"The host was most welcoming and accommodating. The accommodation was clean and well furnished. Unit was larger than anticipated. A very pleasant stay."

Secure parking, but our host did graciously provide security.

"Nadja is a fantastic host, balancing sufficient oversight with leaving you to get on with what you want to do. Situated on a side-water to the main Zambezi river, the lodge balances gardens and land living with river adventures. We ended up staying an extra day because we enjoyed it so much. Went tiger fishing (catch and release) and caught 9 tigers, the largest 6kgs in weight - Sam our fishing guide was excellent, very knowledgeable about the local bush, the birdlife and the river itself. Every morning, the white browed robin serenaded us awake, followed by a morning chorus enough to drive any twitcher green with envy. We will be back!"

Our room did not have mosquito nets, although my brother's room did - given that it is a high risk malaria area, would have preferred to have nets. Some areas need a little maintenance, for example, the sink drained very slowly, but nothing serious.

"Great stay in the middle of nowhere, with super friendly and knowledgeable managers. Great service as well, and really everything included. We enjoyed the flexibility on activities offered and loved the canoeing on the Orange River."

The lodge is off the grid so there is no aircon. We stayed there over Christmas and it can get uncomfortable especially at night.
