"Everything was very good. The owner is a really kind old woman. If you understand Russian or Latvian you can hear a lot of histories."

"Absolutely delightful stay in the old kolkhoz headquarters. Pilskalne is as peaceful as it gets and the bulding has been lovingly renovated and kept very clean by the warm and friendly owner Lidija who was waiting for me to check in. Daughter Vita was also there to greet me and translate the interesting history of the place. The two women really made me feel at home. I had a fantastic sleep in the very comfortable bed of the Agronom room which stayed very cool even in warm weather. The hostel like building has a shared bathroom and well equipped kitchen. Upstairs Lidija has created a little museum room with interesting documents and items from the Soviet era. Outside there is a garden area with seating. Such fantastic value for money. Thank you Lidija and Vita ❤️."

"Very clean, older but perfectly functional furniture, comfortable matresses, extremely hospitable hosts (they even gave us a bunch of homegrown apples before we left), cool temperature inside in hot weather (no AC needed), beautiful garden and surrounding nature, very calm, well equipped kitchen"

"The hostess didn't speak English, so we had to translate everything. But you can feel her care and love everywhere. The house is clean, light and pretty. Inside there are vazes with fresh flowers and a small garden outside. You can access a walking path nearby – to see beautiful nature with lakes and a swamp. There's also a pond nearby, where you can swim - the hostess can show a place from which to swim in it."

"Ļoti interesanta vieta - patiks tiem, kas vēlas izjust padomju kolhoza kantora ēkas auru. Saimniece vienkārši dievīga - ļoti liela savas dzimtenes vēstures zinātāja."

"Недорого. Тихое, спокойное место. Парковка для авто без проблем. До центра Илуксте всего 2.5 км. Все чисто. Есть общая кухня, хорошо оборудована. Бойлер - всегда горячая вода. Отдельная благодарность хозяйке. Мы получили много ценной информации по истории и интересных местах Аугшдаугавского края."
"В отеле нет WiFi. Можно пользоваться только публичным у здания местной администрации поселка в 100 м от отеля. Или через своего оператора мобильной связи."

"Excellent location. Very well equipped. Nice, large bathroom. And we were greeted with champagne! In addition, the host is very responsive and quick to get in touch. Great place for up to 3 people! There were four of us and we stayed there for over a week, most nights just two or three of us slept there. The couple nights though, when all four of us slept in the accommodation, became very cramped, but the host warned us about it, although a few nights are not a big problem. In any case, I would not recommend to take this apartment longer for a night or two, if you are 4 people, and all of you plan to actually sleep there, and good night sleep is what you are seeking for - otherwise - one of the finest choices to explore Valmiera to the fullest! :)"

"I loved everything about this place, location is perfect, if you're traveling by train or autobus 10-15 mins walk maximum. You don't have to worry about groceries, small mini-mart is 3 mins walk away with everything you may need, If you arrive late and the mini mart is closed,you can always grab something to eat at Circle-K gas station open 24hrs. If your stay is short and you want to explore Valmiera, you may have to come again, because once you enter the apartment, you won't want to go outside. It's so nice and cozy and equipped with everything. On my stay I didn't go outside once. I highly recommend this place."
