LA MAITRISE

"We loved the fresh breakfasts and the historic building and renovation. Our host was very friendly and wanted us to enjoy our stay."

"The seperate shared toilet to our room. I did not understand that we only rented a room and not the entire apartment - should’ve read other peoples reviews better."

"A beautifully appointed property. The bedroom was spacious with a splendid ensuite shower and the king sized bed most comfortable. The living room had a fantastic view of the cathedral. It was a very peaceful and relaxing place to chill out. The location to the cathedral and shops was excellent with free parking close by. The host was friendly."

"The toilet was a little further away from the bedroom than we would have liked. Although the breakfast was tasty (traditional bread, jam and fruit) we would have liked more variety: for example croissants, yogurts, cheese and other fruits would have been good."

"Fabulous room in the heart of the oldest part of the town and one minute from the cathedral. The main shopping and eating areas are 5-10 minutes away."

"This is a beautifully refurbished 13th-century building. Staying in this accommodation is like stepping back in time. As far as I could see, it only provides accommodation for two, and it does that well. On the days that I stayed; the owner served a particularly good continental breakfast. Whilst sitting and eating breakfast, the view of the cathedral through the window is quite spectacular, only 100 m away. Of my one-month holiday, this is my best-remembered accommodation. I particularly liked the walk-in shower."

"Location was great. Host very accommodating letting us leave our bags prior to check-in. Host's local knowledge."

"Non smoke free environment. No TV in room."

"The host was very accommodating and helpful. The property was extremely well situated in the centre of Bayeux. The property was in a beautiful old building with a lot of charm and character. A lovely room and breakfast."

"As I am quite elderly I found the two flights of stairs a little tiring. The help of a rail up the side would have made me feel a little more secure."

"Jean-paul was an excellent host very helpful with parking information & very accommodating the building was spotless and decorated to the highest of standards Would definitely stay at La Maitrise again & recommend to others Thankyou for our stay Paul & Tina"

"We liked the location as it was central to everything. The room was spacious and comfortable."

"The stairs were precarious for older adults, such as ourselves."

"Built in 1300, beautiful honest renovation. The cathedrals is right outside the window. Easy to walk everywhere . Charming owner."

"No parking . Must walk suitcases to the building and carry them up one floor on castle like steps. Can take a bit of time to find a parking place."
