"Our stay on the Yathra Houseboat will always stay in our minds and hearts. This is our second time within 3 years. We had a vacation of our life with all the comfort and pampering by the staff on the boat. The cruise on the river provided rare glimpse of few exotic birds and a large group of monkeys. The narrations by the Manager of the Dedduwa Boat House about those birds were very informative. The Skipper was kind enough to stop along the river bank to watch the birds closely and take photographs. The candle-lit dinner and the night spend on the upper deck was simply magical. The next day my husband even managed catch some fish while cruising. The staff arranged them to be prepared for our lunch and that dish was out of this world. The staff went an extra mile to make us happy. The bedrooms and the facilities on board were above standard. This is the best destination we spend while in Sri Lanka. Keep it up Yathra and we will back again next year."

"ביחס לשאר מקומות הלינה בעיירה, המלון היה מעולה. הצוות במלון היה נהדר. חוף הים מדהים, והמלון ממש על החוף. ארוחת הבוקר הייתה טובה. היה אינטרנט בסיסי. היו מים חמים למקלחת בערב אבל הזרם היה חלש."

זו עיירה ללא תשתיות, ובהתאם אפשרויות הלינה מאוד בסיסיות. המחיר היה מאוד גבוה ביחס לתמורה . אם מחפשים התנתקות מהעיר, ומנוחה, ומוכנים להתפשר על מקום הלינה, חוסר בחשמל ואינטרנט בסיסי אז זה המקום עבורכם.

"Extremely friendly staff! Very nice surroundings, excellent location on the river. Delicious food with enormous portions. Simple, but clean and cozy. Fishing possibility on site."

"I loved the whole concept. Just to wake up in the morning with the view of the boats in Marina is perfect. The house is more like a apartment with a perfect uper deck, with Jacuzzi and the view. You can really organize your time as you like, be active or just take it easy. In the evening is perfect moment to relax and watch the stars from hot Jacuzzi tub. Everything is close by. The beach is not a perfect one but it’s close one and you can always easily go for the swim. The house has everything you need and the host Igor was helpful in organizing everything to run smoothly. Thank you for that. I will definitely come again."

"Helpful and friendly staff. Good place to chill, sauna was good. It was windy days, so some noise was, but atmosphere was better :) Here also you can take a boat ride on the lake"

"This place is very special to our family, and we come back every summer. We’ve stayed in the resort’s different lake houses and all have been great. The Swan House is cozy and charming, and since it’s only reachable by boat, it was an extra adventure for our child. Waking up to the sounds of the lake—fish jumping, raindrops (we had a few during our stay), the wind in the reeds, and birdsong—was simply magical. The owner is a wonderful lady, full of energy and creative ideas. Her warm hospitality and the super tasty pancakes she made for breakfast made our stay even more memorable."

The Swan House does not have a shower or sink, but with the lake all around, it wasn’t really a problem for us.

"It was amazing in all aspects! I travel very often and staying at this place was one of the best experiences. The staff were extremely helpful,professional, and nice. Not only the location was amazing and just 10 minutes walk to metro and old town, but also the whole environment was very cute. They had a common kitchen that you can use to make your food and have it with an amazing view in addition to a common TV room that you can watch movies in a very cosy environment. Also a cute cafeteria that serves breakfast and coffee as well."
